About Me

I am a person with a great capacity for loving people and myself. I love connecting with people and the best way I can do that is by being an active listener. I want people around me to not only be seen, but to be heard. It’s not about me shining. It’s about giving others the chance to shine. I want to help those who are asking for help. I want to supply them with the tools and knowledge so that they can be the best versions of themselves. People deserve to feel good about themself. A good sense of self-worth can bring you far in life. I am curious and intent on learning each and every day. I am passionate about mental health and have first-hand involvement on both sides of the therapeutic experience. I am a mom of a transgender son, assigned AFAB. I have been involved and have done vast amounts of research every step of the way, because I want to continue being the best mom I can be. That takes understanding. Just as my son had to adapt to a new way of life and form a new identify, I too, had to do some growing. My son is happy and content with who he has become. He tells me he is happy I adopted him and how much he appreciates what I have done for him, “you are the best mom anyone could ask for.” That comes from not only being sympathetic, but empathic and truly listening to and understanding his needs. I’ve given him everything in my power so that he can be the best that he can be. And by doing that, I am the best person I can be.
